Lakers Injury Report: Cam Reddish Departs For Locker Room After Hard Hit To Jaw
Los Angeles Lakers starting small forward Cam Reddish, playing as part of a LeBron James-free late fourth quarter lineup against the Toronto Raptors at home, had to leave the game when he was elbowed in the jaw by new starting Raptors point guard Immanuel Quickley on a drive.
Reddish held his head for a while, crumpled on the baseline beneath the basket, before being tended to by LA's medical staff.
Although it certainly looked like an inadvertent, if hard, graze to me while positioning himself into a shooting motion, attendant referees disagreed. Quickley was whistled for his sixth foul and ejected, but he was also assessed a flagrant for his trouble, giving Reddish two free throws and the Lakers possession. The 6'8" Dukie went 1-for-2 from the foul line before departing for LA's locker room. He has yet to return.
LA led by a possession, 111-109, when Reddish exited for LA's locker room with 3:52 remaining in regulation. In 22:38, Reddish finished with 13 points on 4-of-7 shooting (including a surprising 4-of-6 shooting from long range) and 1-of-2 from the charity stripe, along with a rebound, a steal, and a block.
Quickley, who made a point to check in with a shaken-up Reddish after he was initially helped off his feet in the name of good sportsmanship, wrapped up his night with 21 points on 11-of-20 shooting from the field (4-of-6 from deep), five boards and five dimes in just 26:03.
We don't yet know exactly what Hachimura's injury is as of yet and how it will impact him going forward, but rest assured -- when we know, you'll know, too.
