Lakers Injury Report: LA Starter Will Miss Philadelphia Clash Tonight

Not ideal.

Your Los Angeles Lakers will be missing at least a fourth rotation player this evening, after all.

Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports that the Lakers will be missing starting shooting guard Cam Reddish for the third straight game tonight, when they continue their four-game road trip with a battle against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Max Christie, a 6'6" second-year swingman initially selected with the No. 35 pick out of MSU, started in Reddish's stead for the best two games and has emerged as an admirable 3-and-D option, probably worthy of regular rotation minutes even when Reddish does return. Christie has been head coach Darvin Ham's preference to assume the starting two gig with Reddish shelved.

Among rotation players, Reddish will continue to ride the pine next to point guard Gabe Vincent (who's played just four games since signing with LA), power forward Rui Hachimura, and power forward Jarred Vanderbilt (who has yet to play since inking a four-year, $48 million contract extension this summer).

Across the seven fully healthy games he's started for LA this season, Reddish boasts averages of 12.3 points on 40.9% shooting from the field, 3.6 rebounds, 2.9 steals and 1.7 assists. In his two starts for Reddish, Christie is averaging 9.5 points on 57.1% shooting from the floor (37.5% shooting from deep), 3.5 rebounds, and 1.5 dimes. He also supplied some very clutch late-game defense on Donovan Mitchell.

The availabilities of the Lakers' two immortals, future Hall of Famers Anthony Davis (probable with a left adductor/hip spasm) and LeBron James (questionable with a left calf contusion), remain up in the air.

The action tips off at 4 p.m. PT.
