Lakers Injury Report: Pricey Los Angeles Free Agent Signing To Return Vs Utah
Your reeling 19-20 Los Angeles Lakers will square off against the rising 20-20 Utah Jazz tonight at the Delta Center tonight on the road.
The Jazz are currently on a four-game win streak, and have cooked up an 8-2 record overall in their last ten contests. Los Angeles, meanwhile, have gone 4-6.
At least LA will be getting some reinforcements.
Per the NBA's latest injury report, it appears that starting combo forward Rui Hachimura has been cleared to play. He's been sidelined with a calf issue for the past five games.
The 6'8" Gonzaga product has emerged as perhaps LA's best current option to occupy that second forward spot this year alongside All-Star LeBron James. This hasn't always been so clear-cut this season, at least not to head coach Darvin Ham, despite Hachimura's lucrative three-year, $51 million deal he signed over the summer as a restricted free agent.
Jarred Vanderbilt brought in to defend big guards, was a total wash. So was Cam Reddish, who's ben more notable for his on-court shenanigans with opposing players than his total inability to make a jumper.
Across his 25 healthy games this year, Hachimura has been averaging 11.6 total points on .485/.468/.76 shooting splits, 3.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists. Here's hoping he far surpasses those fairly modest numbers against Utah's jumbo-sized front line.
