Although your Los Angeles Lakers may be banged-up tonight themselves, they've gotten a bit of a lucky injury break of their own. Los Angeles will be hosting a Portland Trail Blazers club without its star rookie point guard.

Per a Trail Blazers press statement, imaging on former G League Elite stud Scoot Henderson, already sidelined with a sprained right ankle since November 1st, has indicated that he has suffered some additional bone bruising.

He will be out for at least the next two-to-three weeks as Portland waits for the bone bruising to recover.

The 19-year-old, selected with the third pick in this year's star-studded NBA draft, was having a rough go of it to kick off the 2023-24 season. Across his five healthy games for Portland (all starts), he averaged just 8.8 points on .346/.095/.857 shooting splits, 4.6 assists (against four turnovers), 2.2 rebounds and 0.6 steals a night.

Oft-injured guard Malcolm Brogdon is also injured again with a strained hamstring, while shooting guard Anfernee Simons is also on the shelf recovering from a thumb surgery. Two-way signing Skylar Mays has seen outsized playing time as a result, and has had his contact converted to a standard deal.
