To keep their depth at the power forward position, team president Rob Pelinka shored up the Lakers' rotation over the summer by retaining his three best assets there for the long haul.

Extending Anthony Davis (who's really a center, but clearly wants to return to more power forward minutes this season), Rui Hachimura and Jarred Vanderbilt to substantial multi-year deals, the Purple and Gold are set at the four for the foreseeable future, boasting three of the best in the league to their credit.

While we know about Davis' talents, Hachimura's playoff run was one to remember and earned him the rank of 23rd best at the position in the league by Frank Urbina of HoopsHype.

Another important trade deadline addition last season for the Lakers was power forward

Rui Hachimura

, who proved to be a great fit on the team at times as a starter but mostly off the bench. Hachimura’s one-on-one scoring – he’s got a potent face-up game and a very quick first step that bigger opponents have trouble keeping up with – were vital to the Lakers’ postseason charge.

Just making the cut was Hachimura's trade deadline teammate in Jarred Vanderbilt, who, fresh off a four year extension with LA, will also play a big part of the team's present and future.

One of the reasons why the Los Angeles Lakers went from borderline playoff team to legit contender at the trade deadline was their addition of young forward

Jarred Vanderbilt

, a defensive specialist with great tools on that end of the floor, one who can finish around the basket very efficiently on offense, at that. Vanderbilt, already 24, won’t ever be a star – his lack of shooting and overall offensive skill will prevent that – but he can be a star in his role as a versatile, impactful defender who doesn’t try to do too much on offense.

Arguably the best group in the league, all three in the frontcourt will be hungry to get another ring for the Lakers.
