Los Angeles Lakers starting center Anthony Davis put together a superlative six-week run to wrap up the 2022-23 NBA regular season, and the NBA has now officially noticed.

The league has announced that it is honoring Davis as its Western Conference Player Of The Month for his March and April output (given that the regular season extends to a week-and-a-half of games in April, it's just factored into March).

The 6'10" big man averaged 26.2 points, 12.5 rebounds and 1.9 blocks a game while drumming up a 14-6 win-loss record. Philadelphia 76ers All-NBA center Joel Embiid, the probable MVP this year, was named the East's Player Of The Month for the same period. He posted averages of 33.3 points, 9.4 rebounds and 4.3 assists during the frame.

For Davis, earning this accolade helps him bolster his case for a sneaky All-NBA Third Team inclusion. He missed too many games for a then-middling team to be named to the All-Star team this season, but The Brow finished the season playing 56 games, a big-enough sample size on a now-good Lakers team that he could be worth a look.

He will not make it as a center, as Embiid, Denver Nuggets MVP contender Nikola Jokic, and Sacramento Kings All-Star Domantas Sabonis will almost assuredly be the All-NBA reps at that position, but he is listed as a forward/center, and may just squeak in. His Player Of The Month honor helps burnish his case.
