Austin Reaves has skyrocketed to the top of the Lakers' priorities this offseason and was labeled as untouchable in any potential trade, even those that involved Kyrie Irving. His value to the team has been evident on the court and he is rumored to be in line for a contract starting at four years and $40 million.

The former Oklahoma shooting guard has won many fans over since he first arrived in LA due to numerous hustle plays, clutch shots, and a skillset that fits in nicely next to stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Reaves joined Michael Scotto of Hoops Hype for a Q&A in which he emphasized that he is not focused on free agency right now.

"I don’t really think that far ahead. I’m just trying to win games. I love being in Los Angeles, and I love being a Laker," said Reaves. "Kobe Bryant was my favorite player growing up, so getting an opportunity to play for the Lakers is a big blessing."

Averaging 10 points on 49 percent shooting from the field and 37 percent from three, Reaves has already seen improvement from his rookie year. The Lakers have struggled as a whole this season but the 6-foot-5 forward has been a diamond in the rough for them. They definitely view Reaves as someone who will play a key role in their future, and will pay him the money he deserves.

In the same interview, Reaves simply listed winning as his top goal moving forward in his professional career.

"That’s all I care about. I think when you’re winning as a team, everyone looks good on the team, regardless if you’re averaging 25 or 10 points," said Reaves. "If you’re winning, you’re doing something right. It’s all about winning for me".

The Los Angeles Lakers' scouting department has brought in some gems over the past few seasons, and a majority have have found new homes due to roster changes. Reaves, however, looks likely to break that trend this summer.
