Lakers News: Betting Odds And Lines For Sunday's Rockets Matchup
Yes, your 39-38 Los Angeles Lakers really should win tonight against the 19-59 Houston Rockets, the bottom seed in the Western Conference.
But they've proven vulnerable against Houston before. Granted, their last encounter, a 114-110 defeat two weeks ago, happened when LA was lacking the services of star center Anthony Davis and All-Star small forward LeBron James, two players it's pretty tough to replace by committee.
But with Davis probable to play and James questionable, the club seems to be primed to bag its 40th win of the season and leapfrog the New Orleans Pelicans to become the West's seventh seed. At least, for today.
What do the Vegas oddsmakers think, at least according to The Action Network?
Let's find out.
The Game Spread
Los Angeles is a whopping 12.5-point favorite to win in Houston today, with Davis expected to play. Because James is merely questionable to participate today, I'm dubious the club can best that set over/under. Let's take the under, but I still believe the Lakers will win.
Anthony Davis' Combined Points + Rebounds
AD has been on quite the tear during the first two games of their team's five-game road trip. He's averaging 38 points and 13.5 rebounds in road games against the Chicago Bulls and Minnesota Timberwolves thus far, and faces a pretty poor defensive team. The over/under for AD's combined points and rebounds tonight ranges from 39.5-40.5. I'd take the over in either scenario, and look for another big AD night.
