Golden State Warriors sixth man shooting guard Jordan Poole has emerged as something of an inadvertent villain to Dubs fans today, after taking a long three-point attempt to tie last night's game in its waning seconds that didn't nearly need to be as lengthy as it ultimately was.

Poole attempted a 27-foot heave with 9.7 seconds left on the game clock and no pressure on the shot clock (i.e. he could have waited for it to tick down to zero and it still would have been the Warriors' ball, theoretically -- although he did need to get a shot off). Instead of stepping up to be closer to the arc, he was clearly more focused on getting the shot off without keeping track on how much time he had left work his way into a better shot.

During an alternate TNT watch-along broadcast, called "NBA Twitter Live," with Taylor Rooks, Channing Frye and Indiana Pacers All-Star point guard Tyrese Haliburton, the trio got into a debate on the merits of that long heave.

"What?!" Frye exclaimed as he saw the miss.

"Oh my god. He can't be serious!" Rooks responded.

"What's wrong with that shot?" Tyrese Haliburton asked.

"Where did he take that from?" Frye asked.

"What do you want him to do, take a dribble?" Haliburton responded.

"There's ten seconds left in the game," Frye noted. "Look at this. He's shooting from where Darvin Ham is!"

"I’m not mad at that shot, he's wide open," Haliburton argued. "I would've shot that too."

"That’s why you’re here with us," Frye joked.

After this moment, the Warriors were left with no choice but to play the foul game, and eventually fell by five points, 117-112.

Frye, as you'll no doubt recall, was a longtime stretch four role players in the league, and served as a key contributor off the bench on two NBA Finals-bound LeBron James-era Cleveland Cavaliers clubs. He won his lone league title with those Cavs, against the Warriors in 2016.
