In their first attempt to close out a star-studded second round playoff contest, your Los Angeles Lakers fell to the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center last night in a blowout, 121-106.

The loss, however, was not even top of mind for many of the Lakers' top personnel. That's because Los Angeles center Anthony Davis caught an elbow from Warriors center Kevon Looney and had to exit the game with an apparent head injury. He was later carted off in a wheelchair for further examination.

To be fair, Anthony Davis tends to specialize in overdramatized reactions to various seemingly minor ailments on the floor, so yours truly didn't think the injury was as major as it turned out to be.

“Obviously everyone saw, he took a shot to the head, but I just checked in on him," head coach Darvin Ham revealed in his postgame presser. "He seems to be doing really good already. That's just where he's at, that's the status of it right now.”

Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet followed up Ham's response by asking for further potential details into next steps for Davis, to which a clearly irked Ham offered up a curt reply.

"We just got done with the game, Mike," Ham said.

If Davis does indeed suffer a concussion, he would most likely have to miss LA's next attempt at a closeout game of the series, which the club still leads 3-2. The Lakers will get their next chance to boot the Dubs out of the 2023 postseason on Friday, as the series returns home to Crypto.com Arena.

AD's All-NBA teammate LeBron James echoed Ham's note that Davis appeared to be on the mend already.

"I didn’t see the (elbow from Looney), I just saw the aftermath," James told reporters after the game, per Trudell. "The medical team said he’s doing better, so that’s what matters the most.”
