Expert Lists Lakers As Strong Fit For Dillon Brooks' Next Team
In the first round of the 2023 NBA Playoffs, Dillon Brooks became one of the biggest storylines... and for all of the wrong reasons.
Despite numerous media sessions in which he called out Lakers superstar LeBron James for being 'too old' and claiming that he would not respect him until he dropped 40 points on him, he averaged just ten points on an abysmal 23% from three and 31% from the field overall.
The Grizzlies were sent home by the purple and gold in just six games and since then, it does not look like Brooks will be welcome back in Memphis next season.

Despite Twitter ripping apart Brooks for not living up to his big talk, there are few that have been able to hold their own against the likes of LeBron James in the playoffs. A ton of people have been questioning whether Brooks will even get signed by another franchise this summer when he hits free agency but I think that is just recency bias talking.
He is still just 27 years old and looking beyond his playoff stats, he was able to average 14 points on 39% from the field on a court that he shared with the likes of Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Desmond Bane.
The antics were a bit much in the playoffs but teams would rather have someone like Brooks who was willing to take on the challenge of taking down a storied franchise like the Lakers. Speaking of LA, Bleacher Report experts believe there could a be a partnership there between the two very soon.
"Brooks is a strong defender who can help out on the perimeter, combining with Rui Hachimura (presuming he's re-signed) and Jarred Vanderbilt to lessen the load for James on that end of the floor. On the offensive end, James can open up the floor for Brooks in ways not even Ja Morant could. Brooks wouldn't be the first or last player to have his best shooting season playing with one of the greatest passers and gravitational forces basketball has ever seen."

If this happened, it would catch a vast amount of the NBA world off-guard but never count out The King joining forces with his famous 'hecklers.'
We saw Patrick Beverley suit up alongside him earlier this season and just a few years ago, Lance Stephenson did as well. LA makes random moves like these every now and then and if they see a good fit and the price is right, don't put it past them.
