The Los Angeles Lakers have had a quiet couple of days ever since they made a slew of signings immediately when free agency started. They pretty much addressed all the necessary areas of their roster but all that was left was another big man besides superstar Anthony Davis and former lottery pick Jaxson Hayes.

Well the Lakers had another former lottery pick on their roster last season that they hoped would fill that role in Mo Bamba but they opted to waive him one day before free agency kicked off and his future remained uncertain. Rumors were swirling that he may return to LA on a smaller deal but Adrian Wojnarowski just reported that he will be with the Philadelphia 76ers next year on a one-year deal.

Free agent C Mo Bamba has agreed on a one-year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, @PrioritySports ’ Mark Bartelstein and agent Greer Love tell ESPN.

Bamba was never able to find an official role within the Lakers' organization after being traded to the franchise in a multi-team trade that saw LA part ways with Patrick Beverley and a handful of second-round picks.

He was viewed as someone that could impact the game on both ends of the floor due to him standing at 7'0 and boasting a 7'10 wingspan. Unfortunately, injuries limited his court time with the Lakers and even when he was deemed active in the postseason, he did not have the trust of head coach Darvin Ham to actually enter the rotation.

Bamba only appeared in three games during LA's Western Conference Finals last year in the playoffs and averaged a measly three minutes per game

He will now likely serve as a backup big on a 76ers squad behind Joel Embiid and it's also being reported that his signing is viewed as insurance in case Paul Reed leaves Philly.

"Philadelphia is bringing in Bamba with the intention of keeping restricted free agent Paul Reed, but Bamba gives the Sixers some security behind Joel Embiid if they do lose Reed."

We wish Bamba the best of luck moving forward but now the clock is ticking for the Lakers and their hunt for another big man. Will it be Christian Wood, Bismack Biyombo or anybody else? We'll be sure to keep you guys updated!
