Former Lakers Star Anthony Davis Could Make Mavericks Debut Against Celtics

After a seismic trade that made Luka Doncic a member of the Los Angeles Lakers and sent Anthony Davis to the Dallas Mavericks, the dust has begun to settle ever so slightly.
The dust is ironically settling less than 24 hours before the trade deadline and many more NBA stars can still be moved, but at least for now, Lakers fans can get an idea of when they will finally see the surreal image of Davis in a Mavericks uniform.
Another casualty of the blockbuster trade of the decade, former Lakers guard Max Christie, has already made his Dallas debut Tuesday evening. He played a whopping 32 minutes off the bench with 15 points, nine rebounds, and a perfect 4-4 from beyond the arc.

Dallas ended up losing 116-118 to the Philadelphia 76ers behind Joel Embiid's 29 point triple-double in his first NBA action in a month.
The Mavericks may have some more insight on when they will get their newly traded big man per The Athletic's Christian Clark.
Clark reported that Davis is listed as questionable to make his Dallas debut Thursday against the Boston Celtics.

Lakers fans knew that the Celtics matchup meant so much more to Davis when he was wearing purple and gold, but it should be just as meaningful as he plays his first minutes since the ground-breaking trade.

The full details of the trade saw the Lakers add Doncic, Maxi Kleber, and former 2020 NBA champion with L.A., Markieff Morris. The Mavericks not only get Davis and Christie, but the Lakers' 2029 first-rounder, while the Utah Jazz get Jalen Hood-Schifino — to make the money work for both sides —while also collecting the Los Angeles Clippers 2025 second-round pick and the Mavs' 2025 second-rounder.
Doncic is still yet to play for the Lakers as he has been out since Christmas Day nursing a strained calf, but is expected to debut on Saturday as ESPN announced they would change its' broadcast schedule to account for the superstar potentially.
Doncic has career averages of 28.6 points, 8.7 rebounds, 8.3 assists, and 1.2 steals in 34.9 minutes.
