Former Lakers Veteran Guard Reveals Next NBA Destination On Beloved Podcast

A good landing spot for him!

When your Los Angeles Lakers traded for guard Patrick Beverley last offseason, it was seen as a great move. But the acquisition never really panned out and the Lakers shipped him off at the trade deadline to the Orlando Magic.

Beverly landed with the Chicago Bulls after being bought out by the Magic and put up some solid games with his hometown franchise. Now a free agent, Beverly has found his new spot for next season, as he announced on his own podcast.

He announced his new destination on his own podcast and revealed that he was signing with the Philadelphia 76ers. It was then announced that it was for a one-year deal.

Last season for the Lakers, he averaged just 6.4 points and shot 34.8 percent from beyond the arch. He never really fit in with the Lakers so it made sense why they moved on from him.

This is actually a perfect landing spot for Beverley. He gets a chance to possibly compete for title, depending on what Philadelphia does this offseason and brings a level of toughness to the team.

The 76ers have lacked that enforcer and it has held them back. Beverley can be that for them and will push star center Joel Embiid like no other play would.

Philadelphia thought it had gotten a solid enforcer with Beverley's former Houston Rockets teammate P.J. Tucker last season, but his age and mileage limited his efficacy. Now, they'll bring in soon-to-be-35-year-old Beverley to take on that role, albeit at a different position. It'll be interesting to see play out.
