Lakers News: Former LeBron James Teammate Says Players Aren’t Scared to Play Against Him
The greatness of LeBron James can never be questioned and he has made his mark against multiple generations of NBA talent. Currently playing in his 20th season, the King has faced off against superstar after superstar in the Finals and looks to do so once again amidst a challenging year.
James wasn't always viewed as a winner in this league though. He was unable to secure a championship during his first stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers and did not go on his first first successful Finals run until the 2011-2012 season with the Miami Heat. They took down the Oklahoma City Thunder as James had Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh as his running mates.
The starting point guard for that squad was none other than Mario Chalmers and he was able to witness the greatness of James firsthand during their four seasons together. However, Chalmers dropped a hot take about his former hall of fame teammate in an interview with Playmaker and it has fans debating James' reputation.
"Nobody fears Bron," said Chalmers. "Nobody's like 'Damn, I gotta go play against Bron tonight', nobody said that. I don't know why. Because I seen people be scared when they actually line up to him but they're not scared actually thinking about that matchup."

No matter how the rest of James' career plays out, there will always be the looming conversation of whether he is better than Michael Jordan. The six-time champion for the Chicago Bulls has always been praised for his 'killer mentality' and much of his recent Netflix documentary 'The Last Dance' was filled with retired players speaking on how much they feared Jordan on the court.
It is definitely not a good look for the King if his owner former teammate that he won two rings with has this to say about him. However, it is worth noting that two have had a history of butting heads in the past and this could be a driving force behind Chalmers' comments.
The most famous exchange between the two actually happened during a huddle in the middle of regular season game.
Fortunately for the Lakers, these comments likely won't faze their superstar as he has bigger problems to worry about. He is currently working his way back from a foot injury as LA is fighting for a playoff spot.
