Grizzlies All-Star Thinks Playoff Loss To Lakers Will Make Team ‘Hungrier Than Ever’
When your Los Angeles Lakers took down the Memphis Grizzlies in six games earlier this postseason, many wondered what went wrong for Memphis. The Lakers were the seven seed, coming off a play-in victory while the Grizzlies were the second seed out West and ready to take that next step. However, the Lakers ran all over Memphis and sent them packing early on in the postseason.
On Paul George’s "Podcast P" show, Grizzlies power forward Jaren Jackson Jr. spoke about the early playoff loss and how he believes that it will fuel the team going forward. Jackson Jr. mentioned that the Lakers humbled and leveled Memphis during the playoff series. The newly minted Defensive Player of the Year said that this will only make them even hungrier for success because he himself doesn't like the feeling of watching other teams playing late into the summer.
The Grizzlies still have one of the more talented rosters across the NBA and they likely will be a playoff team next season. They do have the impending Ja Morant suspension coming done but the core unit of players is there for them. Jackson Jr, Desmond Bane and Tyrus Jones should be able to hold down the fort for however long Morant is out. They will give the Lakers all they can handle next season when they meet as surely they will be out for revenge against the team that knocked them out.
