Memphis Grizzlies starting shooting guard Desmond Bane, who has enjoyed just an absolute monster first round playoff series against your Los Angeles Lakers thus far, is confident that the Grizzlies will steal tomorrow's Game 6 in Crypto.com Arena, writes Tim MacMahon of ESPN

Memphis, who trails Los Angeles 3-2 in the series, must win Game 6 to keep their title hopes alive. LA had snagged a commanding 3-1 edge, but looked completely out-of-sorts yesterday in a brutal 116-99 Game 5 loss to the Grizz.

Bane scored a game-high 33 points, pulled down 10 boards, and passed for five assists in Game 5.

“We got to come with the right edge and the right road mentality, but I said it out there and I’ll say it again,” Bane said. “We’re going to be back for a Game 7 in front of the best fans in the NBA.”

Through the first five games of this hotly-contested 2-7 matchup, which LA improbably leads as the lower seed, Bane is averaging 25.2 points on .440/.318/.960 shooting splits, 6.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists a night.

The 6'5" TCU alum, still just 24, would probably have been an All-Star this season alongside generational superstar point guard Ja Morant, had he not missed major early time with an injury. Instead, eventual 2023 Defensive Player of the Year Jaren Jackson Jr. became the second Grizzly to make the All-Star team this season.
