Lakers News: How Darvin Ham Intends To Beat The Knicks
Following a blowout 121-104 loss against the Brooklyn Nets, your Los Angeles Lakers fell to an 0-2 start on their ongoing three-game road trip last night.
Both those defeats carry with them several caveats.
The first road loss, a 125-121 overtime heartbreaker to the Boston Celtics on Saturday, could have handily been a win, had attendant game officials recognized Jayson Tatum's foul on LeBron James in the closing seconds of regulation.
The second, last night in Brooklyn, was over before it started, as both James and Anthony Davis sat out to preserve their bodies ahead of the Knicks game tonight.
After the Nets game, LA head coach Darvin Ham discussed his approach to tonight's action to gathered reporters:
"Just told them bottle up what we did in that third quarter and let's make the first step in the right direction tomorrow," Ham said of his message to the Lakers following the Nets loss.
"We've got to fill our cups back up, prepare for a really really good New York Knick ball club," Ham continued. "That's pretty much it, nobody's going to feel sorry for us. We still have the potential to make this a very good trip. There's three winnable games [left]. It starts with us. We've got to make it up in our minds that we want to play the right way for long periods of time."
