Lakers News: How To Watch Pau Gasol's Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony Tonight
Longtime Los Angeles Lakers power forward/center Pau Gasol will be enshrined along with the rest of a particularly European-centric Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame 2023 class tonight.
Across his 1,226 career regular season contests, Gasol averaged 17 points, 9.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists per night, while being named to six All-Star teams and four All-NBA teams. Along with fellow Hall of Famer Kobe Bryant, Gasol helped guide Los Angeles to three NBA Finals appearances and two championships in 2009 and 2010.
A native of Barcelona, Spain, Gasol won three EuroBasket championships, a FIBA World Cup, and two Olympic silver medals in 2008 and 2012 (losing to teammate Kobe Bryant's Lakers twice) plus a bronze in 2016.
Joining Gasol will be 14-time All-Star Dallas Mavericks power forward Dirk Nowitzki, 13-time All-Star Miami Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade, and six-time San Antonio Spurs All-Star Tony Parker. Nowitzki, Parker and Gasol number among some of the most decorated European players in league history.
Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich and former assistant coach Becky Hammon (now a title-winning head coach for the Las Vegas, who's being honored for her All-Star playing career) will also be enshrined tonight.
Inquiring LA fans no doubt want to know where and when to tune in for the seven-footer's speech.
The ceremony is set to tip off at 4 p.m. PT on NBA TV, with 45 previous Hall of Fame inductees in attendance. A Red Carpet Show will commence at 3 p.m. PT.
Gasol will be presented by Chicago Bulls power forward Toni Kukoc, a member of the 2021 class.
