Lakers Injury Report: 2 Ailing LA Starters Probable Tonight Against Toronto
Your 32-34 Los Angeles Lakers will host the 32-35 Toronto Raptors tonight at Crypto.com Arena. LA is dealing with a handful of major injuries, but it appears the team may be getting a little more whole just in time for this matchup.
That's because the league's freshest injury report indicates that starting Lakers point guard D'Angelo Russell, who has missed LA's past six games with a sprained right ankle, is now considered probable to return (and reenter the starting lineup).
Adding Russell's playmaking, size and three-point shooting will represent a significant upgrade over substitute starter Dennis Schröder.
Starting center Anthony Davis is also considered probable to suit up for Los Angeles.
In terms of the Lakers' longer-term injuries, reserve center Mo Bamba (left ankle sprain) and starting small forward LeBron James (right tendon injury) are both going to remain absent for multiple weeks. Two-way Lakers rookies Scotty Pippen Jr. and Cole Swider will be with the team's NBAGL affiliate, the South Bay Lakers.
A whopping five Raptors are with the team's own G League club, the Raptors 905 in Mississauga, Ontario: two-way players Ron Harper Jr. and Jeff Dowtin Jr., plus standard roster players Dalano Banton, Joe Wieskamp and Christian Koloko.
Elsewhere for Toronto, Otto Porter Jr. (left foot surgery) remains sidelined, while buyout market steal Will Barton (non-COVID-19 illness) is probable to suit.
