Tonight, your Los Angeles Lakers hope to fend off the pesky Memphis Grizzlies as their best-of-seven first round playoff series finally relocates to Crypto.com Arena, LA's home turf.
Now, the Grizzlies have officially shed some light on the availability of their best player, All-Star point guard Ja Morant, who had previously been considered questionable to suit up for this evening with a recently re-aggravated right hand bruise.
Per Memphis, Morant will indeed be able to start for LA, displacing his backup, reserve playmaker Tyus Jones, as the team's lead guard.
This is an unfortunate break for the Lakers, who failed to exploit Morant's absence on Wednesday in a surprising 103-93 loss to a Memphis team missing not only Morant, but also key frontcourt pieces Steven Adams and Brandon Clarke. Adams and Clarke will miss the entirety of the postseason as they continue to recover from a right knee PCL sprain and a torn left Achilles, respectively.
Can a healthy Los Angeles take advantage of a Memphis team that, even with Morant back in the fold, is still without two key pieces in Adams and Clarke? We'll have to find out tonight.
