Lakers Injury Report: Golden State, LA Role Players Upgraded Ahead Of Game 5
Your Los Angeles Lakers and their second round opponents, the Golden State Warriors, could both look a little healthier tonight in a potential closeout game at the Chase Center.
The seventh-seeded Lakers (43-39) currently lead the sixth-seeded Warriors (44-38) 3-1, and could advance if they beat the reigning champs on the road this evening.
Per the latest league injury report, reserve 3-and-D center Mo Bamba is considered questionable with a sore left ankle, the same injury that kept him sidelined for much of the end of the 2022-23 regular season. Bamba has been sidelined throughout this playoff series thus far with the ailment.
LA head coach Darvin Ham has opted for a combination of forwards LeBron James and Rui Hachimura, plus (occasionally) 6'9" power forward/center Wenyen Gabriel, to spell starting five Anthony Davis at center, but the 7' Bamba could offer the club some added rim protection to further intimidate the tiny Warriors in the paint.
Stars Davis (right foot stress injury management) and James (right foot soreness) are listed as probable to play, as they have throughout the postseason.
On the Warriors side of the equation, rookie guard Patrick Baldwin Jr. (left toe soreness) has been upgraded to questionable, after also missing all but one game in this series thus far. He played mop-up minutes during Golden State's 127-97 Game 3 blowout loss in Los Angeles. Andre Iguodala (left wrist surgery) and Ryan Rollins (right foot surgery) remain unavailable for the Warriors. Neither is a big rotation player for the club at this point, though Iguodala has functioned as something of a semi-assistant coach to Golden State's younger players.
