After much speculation, it sounds like your Los Angeles Lakers may not have to face off against their most fearsome foe on the Memphis Grizzlies, at least not in the short-term future.

Per Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report and Turner Sports, Grizzlies All-Star point guard Ja Morant's sore hand may preclude him from suiting up for the second game of the Lakers' and Grizzlies' first round playoff series, set for tomorrow night.

Memphis has officially announced that Morant is questionable to play, which on the spectrum of pregame diagnoses is certainly worse than the "probable" designation but better than "doubtful."

This news is not entirely surprising, given that even earlier today it was revealed Morant had re-aggravated a bone bruise in that hand, which he initially incurred during a late regular season game against the Milwaukee Bucks two weeks ago.

Obviously, without the Grizzlies' best player, top scorer and lead playmaker, Memphis' chances of actually advancing become slim. Following a 128-112 win at FedEx Forum, Los Angeles shifted into the driver's seat among Vegas oddsmakers following its game one win and the Morant injury. A second road win against a Morant-less Memphis could give LA a close-to-insurmountable lead, given that the club should be able to win at least two of its three home games.
