Lakers Injury Report: LA Far Outpacing Memphis In Health Ahead Of Playoff Series
Your Los Angeles Lakers, the seventh seed in the Western Conference at 43-39, are ramping up for a first round playoff series battle against the second-seeded Memphis Grizzlies (51-31). The action kicks off tomorrow, on ABC, at noon PT.
It appears that the Lakers are expected to have a fairly clean injury report heading into tomorrow's matchup, though three of the club's top players are merely listed as "probable" to play on the league's latest injury report.
Hall of Fame frontcourt players LeBron James (sore right foot) and Anthony Davis (right foot stress injury maintenance) and reserve point guard Dennis Schröder, who was handily LA's best guard in its 108-102 overtime play-in win over the Minnesota Timberwolves last Tuesday, are those three probable players. Everyone else is considered healthy.
According to Jovan Buha of The Athletic, Los Angeles head coach Darvin Ham clarified that, despite the (slightly) tenuous status of those key players, he considers all 15 Lakers to be available for Sunday.
Memphis, meanwhile, is dealing with a much more banged-up roster than Los Angeles.
Starting Grizzlies center Steven Adams and reserve power forward/center Brandon Clarke are done for the season with a right knee PCL sprain and a torn left Achilles, respectively. Rookie combo forward Jake LaRavia, the 19th pick in last summer's draft out of Wake Forest, will also miss at least the first game of Memphis' playoff series against LA due to a sore right calf.
