Lakers Injury Report: Latest On Offseason Health Of Anthony Davis, LeBron James
Your Los Angeles Lakers' two future first-ballot Hall of Famers, small forward LeBron James and center Anthony Davis, helped power LA all the way to a Western Conference Finals rematch against the Denver Nuggets, the club's first appearance that deep into the postseason since 2020.
But they were doing so while compromised.
The 39-year-old James, who made yet another All-NBA team this season, was limited to just 55 healthy contests this season due to a torn tendon in his right foot. He clearly looked worn down at the ends of most of his games in throughout the playoffs.
Davis, still just 30, had dealt with a bone spur and stress reaction in his right foot for most of the 2022-23 season. He struggled to supply consistently great offensive production in the postseason, though he was always pretty solid on defense (he couldn't really contain Nikola Jokic, but then again, who could?).
Per Jovan Buha of The Athletic, team president Rob Pelinka recently supplied a minor update on the statuses of both his team's injury-prone stars while in Las Vegas for a Summer League excursion.
“We feel good about the offseason and the treatment that AD and LeBron are getting,” Pelinka said. “All the reports have been good around both those injuries, in terms of the guys being able to move past them.”
