Lakers Injury Report: No Guarantee LeBron James, Anthony Davis Available Today
Your Los Angeles Lakers could be missing their two best players tonight in Houston. That's the bad news.
The good news is that the actual odds of that transpiring seem pretty darn thin.
Per Jovan Buha of The Athletic, Davis is considered probable to play through his right foot stress injury. James is merely questionable as he works his way back from a right foot tendon tear. As Buha notes, however, both future Hall of Famers have been planning on playing today.
If they don't, as we've seen before, anything can happen against a bad, but young and hungry, Houston Rockets team.
Center Mo Bamba remains out with his left high ankle sprain that could keep him out for the rest of the year. Two-way player Scotty Pippen Jr. is working with the team's G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers, but the injury report Buha shared made no mention of LA's other two-way player, Cole Swider, doing the same, meaning he might actually be with LA today!
As we previously reported, thanks to the new CBA LA will be able to field a whopping three two-way players next season. Yours truly is skeptical either Pippen or Swider, neither of whom has played meaningful minutes for Los Angeles (both have played just six games), will be back.
