It's hard to compare basically anybody to legendary Los Angeles Lakers point guard Magic Johnson, but there are a handful of players whose court vision at least approaches that of the 12-time All-Star and three-time league MVP.

TJ Kidd, son of title-winning former LA assistant coach (and a Hall of Fame point guard in his own right) Jason Kidd, recently spoke with Brandon "Scoop B" Robinson of Bovada Sports to promote his impending celebrity basketball game this Saturday, and was asked by Robinson about how the two legends' games compared.

TJ Kidd will be host his annual event, the TJK Classic, tomorrow evening, August 19th, at Birmingham Charter High School in Van Nuys. The fun kicks off at 5 p.m. The event is set to benefit The LadyLike Foundation, a non-profit to help underprivileged inner city young women, this summer.

The celebrities in attendance include Hall of Fame running back Eric Dickerson, former Pro Bowl defensive end Marcellus Wiley, the father-son NBA duo of Kenyon and KJ Martin, global dunk champion Chris Staples, YouTube star Maxisnicee, former University of North Carolina at Charlotte guard Mariah Linney, "The Bold And The Beautiful" star Rome Flynn, Zay Wildon, boxer and football pro Chase DeMoor, Cal State University, Monterey Bay star-turned-Moorpark College assistant coach and content creator Jenna Bandy, and former UC Irvine star Mamadou N'Diaye.

"Comparisons are funny because I think you're trying to compare two different bodies of work," the younger Kidd offered. "We obviously know Magic, the Showtime Lakers, five-time NBA champion, one of the greatest point guards to ever step foot on the basketball floor in my opinion. He was 6'9", right? He made being a big point guard cool, and throwing no-look passes and just having a good time, always smiling."

"Whereas my dad, he was more straightforward about the game, and he made all those crazy passes too, but I think in terms of championships, Magic's Magic. I think, not to discredit my dad in his career, I think you can look at both in different lights and you can have the same amount of respect and adulation for both."
