The Los Angeles Lakers are set for yet another set of back-to-back games, which begins on Wednesday.

This one won't be easy as they will start with the team that has been a thorn in their side over the past three seasons, the Denver Nuggets. The Lakers will host the Nuggets in what could be their final matchup of the season. L.A. will look to tie the season series and amend whatever demons they have against Denver, for whatever it is worth.

At best, this game could give the Lakers the upper hand regarding the tiebreaker between these two teams as they jockey for seeding. With a win on Wednesday, the Lakers could jump the Nuggets, who currently sit as the No. 3 seed, while the Lakers sit as the No. 4 seed.

The Lakers will play their 68th game of the season and search for their 43rd win of the season. Luckily, they will have their best player and superstar, Luka Dončić.

Dončić, who was listed as probable prior to the game due to a right ankle sprain, has been upgraded to available and will start. He will play in his 38th game of the season and his 16th with the Lakers.

Dončić missed the last matchup against the Nuggets, and most of the Laker rotational players also missed it, as it was the second night of a back-to-back.

The 26-year-old sat out of that matchup, but he will be on the court for this one. The last time he faced Denver, he played arguably his best game as a Laker, which resulted in a win. On Feb. 22, Dončić showed up and showed out, recording 32 points on 10-of-22 shooting from the field, 10 rebounds, seven assists, and four steals in 31 minutes of action.

The last time Dončić was on the court, he shot poorly from the field, shooting 5-of-20 and recording 21 points. Still, he was only one rebound away from recording his third triple-double as a Laker.

While Dončić will be on the court, the Lakers are home underdogs in this matchup with a +2.5 spread.

The Lakers are 28-13 in Western Conference games. Los Angeles is eighth in the Western Conference with 26.3 assists per game led by LeBron James averaging 8.5.

The Nuggets are 26-15 in conference matchups. Denver averages 121.2 points while outscoring opponents by 4.3 points per game.

Both teams are 6-4 in their last 10 games.
