Ja Morant’s Newest Tattoo Pays Homage to This Lakers Legend

Always showing love!

There's been a lot of talk over the past couple of years as to who is the next face of the NBA once LeBron James and Stephen Curry retire. Even though they are years removed from meeting each other in the Finals every season, they still continue to remain among the best and most popular players in the league and as long as they're playing, the community tunes in.

A common player that usually gets brought up in this conversation is none other than Memphis Grizzlies' superstar guard Ja Morant. He is only 23-years-old and already has two All-Star selections under his belt to go with a Most Improved Player award and a signature shoe with Nike.

He could arguably go down as the most athletic point guard of all-time when his career is all said and done and even though there's been a lot of noise off the court surrounding his name, there's no question when it comes to his generational talent on the court.

But the former Murray State guard already pays homage to those before him and one person he's always looked up to is Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant. He's spoken in the past about how he's studied his approach to the game and how he handled late-game pressure. Most recently, he got two brand-new tattoos showcasing Bryant's signature logo along with a '24' that reads 'Mentality' over it.

Morant is at the helm of a very young and talented Grizzlies squad and even though they've enjoyed recent regular seasons filled with success, they have yet to carry that over to the playoffs. He knows how important this offseason is for him and he's likely getting these tattoos to illustrate his mindset moving forward.
