Lakers News: Jalen Hood-Schifino Reacts To Being Drafted By LA

Welcome to the Laker family!
In this story:

The Lakers added in two new pieces to their championship puzzle Thursday night via the NBA Draft. They wanted to get younger and upgrade the team and with their two selections, they did just that. LA went with Jalen Hood-Schifino from Indiana University and Maxwell Lewis from Pepperdine, as well as signing some un-drafted players. Many have raved about the Lakers picks, calling them smart picks for where they got the players.

Every player that gets drafted is obviously emotional. The hard work that they put in over their lives is finally paying off and they are going to get to live out their dreams. Hood-Schifino was no different and took to Twitter to show his excitement about joining the Lakers.

Obviously he is excited to join the NBA but joining the Lakers is a different idea all together. They are the most storied franchise in the history of the NBA so being a Laker is different than being on other teams. Veteran players have talked about it, even in the down years that the franchise has seen. It just means something else.

Additionally, he is joining a team that has LeBron James on it. James will be his teammate next season, assuming he doesn't retire. No matter how anyone feels about James, going from being a college player to a teammate of James has to be special. He is arguably the best player in history so Hood-Schifino will get to play with a legend.

The Lakers were surprised that Hood-Schifino was still on the board when they drafted him. The two-way guard can make a real impact with LA next season and we can't wait to see what he can do!
