Memphis rapper Al Kapone's catchy track "Whoop That Trick" (popularized in the very Memphis 2005 hip hop drama "Hustle And Flow") became the (pretty obnoxious) rallying cry for this year's 51-31 Memphis Grizzlies, the second seed in the Western Conference.

Last night, as the Grizzlies were getting blown out by your underdog Los Angeles Lakers and thus en route to a first round playoff elimination, LA opted to reappropriate the opposition postgame celebration a little early:

This was just an epic troll job by LA, which had at least superficially seemed unperturbed by the Grizzlies' obnoxious smack talking to the press (at least, following games they didn't lose). It seems the younger, more athletic Grizz, who had been favored to win against the 43-39 Lakers, certainly irked the more veteran Lakers.

To be fair, the Lakers certainly did whoop the Grizzlies, besting a totally spent Memphis club by 40 points, 125-85. Starting LA point guard D'Angelo Russell roundly outplayed All-Star Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant in a must-win situation for Morant, scoring 31 points while shooting 12-of-17 from the field. Morant notched a meager 10 points while shooting 3-for-16 from the floor.

LA now moves on to the second round of the Western Conference playoff bracket, where it will face the winner of the ongoing series between the Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors, which is going the full distance and will play a decisive seventh game in Sacramento tomorrow.
