Lakers News: Los Angeles Signs Veteran Wing

Good solid depth for LA!

The Los Angeles Lakers have made their first move of the offseason, signing veteran forward Taurean Prince, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. The former Minnesota Timberwolves forward gives the Lakers a nice option as he can both shoot and gives them some extra wing depth.

Terms of the deal have yet to be divulged, though Prince shouldn't be too pricey a piece as a bench swingman. He just wrapped up a two-year, $14.6 million with Minnesota.

Prince averaged 9.1 points per game last season and shot 38.1 percent from beyond the arch. This gives the Lakers someone who can help space the floor, which is something that the team needed.

Career wise, he has shot 37.2 percent from three so the production is there and LA obviously saw some potential. He won't give you all-NBA level of defense but he is a long, athletic player who can give the team some three-and-D depth.

This is a very sensible move for LA and gives them some extra scoring off the bench and is the first move for this team as they look to build this roster up.
