Lakers News: LA Still Considers Anthony Davis Stress Injury "Active"
Los Angeles Lakers star center Anthony Davis may be a bit more banged-up than the team had been letting on.
Jovan Buha of The Athletic dropped in a concerning note about AD's health within a larger piece. Per Buha, Davis' right foot stress injury is viewed by the Lakers' medical team as an ongoing, "active injury."
In direct contrast to earlier reports, Davis' status for LA's final pair of back-to-back bouts for LA, on April 4th and 5th, remains up in the air.
The 6'10" vet has been solid for LA when he has been available, though the right foot stress condition caused him to miss 20 straight contests. Through 47 games, the eight-time All-Star is averaging 25.9 points on 55.9% shooting from the floor and 79.5% shooting from the foul line. He's also pulling down a career-high 12.4 rebounds, along with 2.6 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.0 steals a night.
As tends to be the case on game days, Davis' availability for the team's latest game is merely probable, according to the NBA's newest injury report, while he continues to manage the stress injury. He had looked like an All-NBA talent prior to incurring the foot ailment, but since his play has been a bit up-and-down.
