Lakers Rumors: LA Still In Talks With Pistons About Bojan Bogdanovic
In an ongoing NBA Today trade deadline special broadcast on ESPN, Los Angeles Lakers insider Ramona Shelburne revealed that LA is still talking to the Detroit Pistons about adding sharpshooting forward Bojan Bogdanovic (h/t Legion Hoops).
Bogdanovic, a 6'7" combo forward, remains trapped on a happily tanking 14-42 Pistons club that has been actively getting worse with just minutes to go now before today's noon deadline.
Across 53 games with Detroit so far, the 6'7" big is averaging a team-most (and career-most) 21.3 points per game on .486/.416/.879 shooting, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.6 dimes.
The three-point shooting is what stands out for him, a department that LA has shored up significantly so far in its deadline approach this year, in adding several 35%+ three-point shooters as of this writing: D'Angelo Russell (who's nailing 39.1% of his seven threes a game), Malik Beasley (making 35.9% of a high-volume 8.6 triple tries), and Mo Bamba (39.8% on 2.7 attempts).
Rui Hachimura for his career is shooting 35.5% from deep, and has been making over 35% of his catch-and-shoot threes this season, but overall is making just 34% of his triple tries in 2022-23. That 41.6% overall conversion rate arrives on a whopping six takes per contest from deep.
