Lakers: Darvin Ham Responds To Recent LA Trade Buzz
Brooklyn Nets All-Star Kyrie Irving made some serious noise on Friday, requesting a trade before the NBA trade deadline.
Many media pundits and people on social media pointed the Lakers way as a team who should trade for the eight-time All-Star. The Lakers and Irving have been linked to each other for quite some time now, and there is a legit chance that LA could land Irving this upcoming week.
However, if you ask Lakers head coach Darvin Ham about the recent trade rumors, he could hardly care about that. Ham met with the media before his teams' matchup against the Pelicans and said we don't play 'fantasy basketball.'
Ham's job is not to decide who plays for the Lakers and who doesn't, but I'm sure he'd love to coach a basketball talent like Kyrie.
LA is currently on a two-game win streak and will be getting healthier by next week. The Lakers brass and its fans have seen what a healthy LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook look like, and they are average as a whole.
The Lakers chances of winning a championship would skyrocket, and they'd consist of the best big three in the league.
Ham said the typical head coach response to the media regarding the rumors, but what else would you expect him to say?
His job is to control what happens with the current Laker roster and win games at all costs.
It'll be interesting to see how different or not so different this Lakers roster will look like come Thursday's trade deadline.
