LeBron James’ mother, Gloria, made sure she was in the building Tuesday night to witness her son make history.

During the third quarter of the Los Angeles Lakers matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the four-time All-Star made a fadeaway jumper to break Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time scoring record. Kareem's record stood for nearly four decades, but there is now a new King in town.

As James made his 38,388th point, his friends and family were among many in the sold-out Lakers crowd to watch greatness unfold in front of their very eyes.

The day after the memorable game, James’ mother, Gloria, took to Instagram to congratulate and praise her son:

Congratulations my son 🎉🎊🎉🎊!!!! You’re motto is: “Nothing is given. Everything is earned.” This is just another example of how all of your hard, disciplined, consistent and focused work gets you what you received. “The NBA All Time Leader Scorer” title!!!! You never cease to surprise me with your accomplishments. You’ve always exceeded even your own expectations and goals. I’m sooooooo very proud of you and happy for you. Continue to strive for greatness and soar beyond new heights. 🚀 I LOVE you, Momma

The 38-year-old adds to his long list of accolades, with this all-time scoring title even pushing some fans to cement James as the one and only GOAT. James certainly stands alone, as no other active NBA player is even within 10,000 points of surpassing his scoring record.

As his mother mentioned, James even exceeded his own goals. The Lakers star previously mentioned that this scoring title was not even a thought or goal he had in mind when he first came into the NBA.

From entering the league as Rookie of the Year to dominating in his 20th year, James worked his way to earning one of the most profound titles in the league.
