Lakers News: Inconsistent LA Role Player Helped Recruit Spencer Dinwiddie
Your Los Angeles Lakers were far from active in this year's trade deadline. Their approach was night and day compared to last year, as they decided to stand pat.
However, the team took a different approach regarding the buyout market. The Lakers said they'd be 'aggressive' in the buyout market, and so far, they landed on one combo guard, LA native Spencer Dinwiddie. Dinwiddie is set to officially sign with the purple and gold on Sunday, and we could all thank the Lakers' backup big man, Christian Wood.
Wood took to Instagram and patted himself on the back for helping land Dinwiddie in purple and gold.
We can neither confirm nor deny how much Wood was involved in the process. Nonetheless, I guess we'll take his word for it.
Maybe these two can help provide some scoring punch off the bench or whenever Anthony Davis and LeBron James are not on the court.
Dinwiddie could provide some spunk on offense, similar to Wood. However, as we've all witnessed already, Wood is inconsistent. At times, he looks like the player we all hoped he'd be, and at times he looks sluggish and lost. Most nights, Wood plays a ton of minutes to help contribute; other nights, he hardly graces the floor.
Maybe Dinwiddie can help Wood become the player Laker fans were hoping for. It's not too much to ask for, but we'll see how these two mesh together on the court if they ever get the chance.
