Your Los Angeles Lakers are scheduled to play the Dallas Mavericks tonight on the second night of a back-to-back, but they will need to do without one of their key players.

Starting shooting guard Cam Reddish will miss the game due to injury, as Dave McMenamin of ESPN details.

He got hurt in the team's game against the Utah Jazz on Tuesday night, and the hope is that he won't have to miss much time. But on the second of a back-to-back, things could get ugly for the Lakers without their starter.

Reddish has been one of the more valuable players for LA this season, and his defensive ability has been on full display. He has averaged 7.4 points and 2.5 rebounds per game this season.

Reddish has also added in 1.7 steals per game, which is the highest of his career so far. He has taken on some of the tougher assignments, which has made things much easier for the rest of his teammates.

Going up the high-powered Mavericks tonight could prove tough without Reddish. The combination of guards Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving will give the Lakers all sorts of problems, especially with Reddish out.

Luckily for the Lakers, star LeBron James only played 24 minutes last night in their win over Utah, so he should be more fresh than usual. He may have to take on the challenge of guarding Doncic, which is unfortunate.

The team has been hit with a bunch of injuries early on in the season, and this is just another in the long line. If LA can get through the game tonight, they don't play again until Saturday night when they take on the Cleveland Cavaliers.
