Draymond Green Signs Long-Term Deal With Warriors, Lakers Miss Out
Well, after lots of conversations, Draymond Green has decided to sign a new contract with the Golden State Warriors, leaving the Lakers no choice to look elsewhere for a high-end free agency pick up.
The deal, as reported by ESPN's Marc J. Spears, will pay the four-time All-Star $100 million across the next four seasons and includes a player option in the last year, when Green will be 37.
The 6'6" vet has been a key component in each of every one of Golden State's championship runs, joining forces with the Splash Brothers, Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry.
Draymond's chances at staying in the Bay seemed very promising as he was seen on Thursday supporting Curry and Thompson at the Wynn Las Vegas Hotel, where the two hoopers took on the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs duo, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kielce, in Capitol One's The Match.
Since free agency began on Friday, the Lakers have been missing out on potential key signings, such as Bruce Brown and now Draymond Green.
Knowing this, the Los Angeles Lakers have considered other options, and as recently reported, LA are working on a deal to bring Free Agent big man, Taurean Prince, to LA.
Still plenty of work to do for the LakeShow, and its a very long summer until the NBA season kicks off in November.
What will the Lakers do next? We shall see, but for now, Draymond Green has a million reasons to chug a beer.
