The Los Angeles Lakers have fallen down the standings faster than many people would have expected. After winning the first-ever NBA In-Season Tournament, the Lakers have been in a free fall.

Not only have they been losing on the court, but they have found themselves in drama off of it as well. There have been rumors swirling about head coach Darvin Ham, and it hasn't been pretty for Los Angeles of late.

Coming off a poor game against the Phoenix Suns, the Lakers know that they don't have a lot of time left. Lakers guard D'Angelo Russell admitted that the Lakers have a lot of holes right now. They've been trying to fight through everything, but it's been difficult over the last month.

“I think it’s just a lot of holes in our system right now,” D’Angelo Russell said. “You use the regular season to figure those things out, the ups and downs, the digression, the setbacks, all these things. Injuries just keep playing a part in our success. … I think we can still find the light at the end of the tunnel. We just got to get better, got to keep getting better.”

The Lakers have to act fast if they want to make sure that they reach the postseason. They have to find a way to come together and realize that they are better than what has been going on.

“I think we’re team that’s still trying to figure things out,” Russell said. “We’re still mixing and matching lineups, finishing groups, starting groups. So, we’re still figuring it out. So, I wouldn’t say panic, or anything like that. Last year was a prime example of this team not being where they wanted to be and we had some new energy, new vibes and it kind of made … it got us to where we ended off last year."

This team was one of the best in the Western Conference just a few short weeks ago, but it just shows the reality of a few bad weeks. The hope is that the Lakers can use this time as motivation to help fuel them the rest of the way.
