Lakers News: Amid Growing Fan Frustration, Darvin Ham Applauds This Aspect Of LA's Charlotte Win
The Los Angeles Lakers find themselves back in the win column. The purple and gold came up big on Thursday with a 133-112 victory over the Charlotte Hornets.
Although the fans didn't receive tacos, it was a stress-free win over a team they gladly handled with ease. Seven Lakers put up double-digit points, a healthy balance in any win. LA's head coach Darvin Ham reflected on how he appreciated that the Charlotte victory represented a well-balanced team win, per The Los Angeles Times' Broderick Turner.
“I thought it was a well-balanced win, a well-balanced team win, from the guys who started us off,” Ham said. “They came out blazing hot in that first quarter.”
The purple and gold were led by none other than their superstar big man, Anthony Davis. Once again, he made his presence felt on both ends of the floor, leading the game in scoring with 26 points on 57% shooting from the field.
This performance came with a new lineup as well, this time due to injury. Laker forward Cam Reddish missed Thursday's game due to a groin injury, meaning Rui Hachimura took his place. It took some time, but eventually, the Lakers' starting lineup of LeBron James, Rui, Davis, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Taurean Prince looked like a good fit.
Defense is the clearly the name of the game with this group. Better defense results in an easier offense, and the Lakers are doing their best to display that on a consistent basis.
