Tomorrow night in Indiana, star Los Angeles Lakers center Anthony Davis will play in his ninth overall All-Star game, but his first since 2021 after a slew of injuries compelled him to miss major time in the intervening seasons.
The Brow was more or less undeniable this year though. Davis has missed just four games for the 30-26 Lakers, who are perhaps a better team than their record might suggest. Davis is the club's defensive foundation, but isn't exactly a slouch when it comes to accruing counting stats to bolster his case, either.
As Taylor Geas of Lakers.com writes, the 6'10" big man is looking forward to his return to the NBA's starriest stage this Sunday.
“This will be my first All Star with my boys,” Davis said of his two sons. “It will be good for them to experience All Star and have a little fun. So, I’m looking forward to spending this one with my family.”
It's clear that this return marks a special moment for The Brow, given the new family presence.
And he's been having a special year. The Kentucky product is logging averages of 24.9 points on 55.3% field goal shooting and 81% free throw shooting, 12.2 rebounds, 3.8 dimes, 2.5 rejections and 1.1 swipes a night.
