Lakers News: Anthony Davis Talks Fit Of Jarred Vanderbilt, D'Angelo Russell

AD loves what two of the trade deadline acquisitions brought on Saturday
In this story:

The Los Angeles Lakers picked up a much-needed win on Saturday against division-rival Golden State Warriors, 109-103. LA was without its superstar LeBron James for the second-straight game; however, star forward Anthony Davis and company did the job on the road.

Davis had an ugly shooting night going 5-for-19 and scoring only 13 points, but he was big time on the boards snagging 16 of them and had three blocks throughout the game.

After the game, LA's big man spoke with the media and said what LA's trade deadline acquisitions of D'Angelo Russell and Jarred Vanderbilt brought to the squad in their win on Saturday.

"Vando do what he do, offensive rebound, defensive rebound, finish around the rim, playmake. D-Lo did what he did, started off slow, tried to make reads, but we continued to talk the entire game. Me and D-Lo literally talked the entire game with our pick-n-roll, what he see, what I see, what he like, what I like. Just tried to build that chemistry on the fly."

Both Russell and Vanderbilt were fantastic in their Laker debut. D-Lo, former Lakers second-overall pick in 2015, was solid in his debut. He was one of four stars who scored in double-digits scoring 15, six assists, and five boards in his return to LA.

Vanderbilt brought this energy that LA desperately needed. From the jump, Vanderbilt played with the spark and energy he's always played with, going back to his Kentucky days with fellow Lakers Weynen Gabriel.

1-0 with the new squad now; hopefully, LeBron can come back as soon as possible so they can go on a run they're capable of going on.
