Basketball fans have been gifted quite the matchups and exciting games in the 2023 FIBA World Cup as star players from all the around the world have been representing their respective countries as they look to bring home medals.

Team USA has already received contributions from a number of their top players such as Anthony Edwards, Jalen Brunson and Jaren Jackson Jr. However, it has been the Los Angeles Lakers rising guard Austin Reaves who has consistently produced off the bench for Steve Kerr's squad and recently lead the team in scoring and assists in their second official win over Greece.

Reaves is 25-years-old and as he gets set to begin his new four-year deal in LA, he jumped at the opportunity to get some international run with other young NBA stars and in that showcase against Greece, he joined Lakers teammate LeBron James with some historic production.

"Austin Reaves joins LeBron James as the only Team USA players with at least 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists at the World Cup since 1994."

Reaves showed in the 2022-2023 season that he can contribute in all aspects of the game and it appears he is only building off of that during these early games with Team USA.

His relationship with James has been well-documented, with The King recognizing Reaves' basketball IQ early on, and now it's amazing to see him match some of his feats on the court.

All great teams need that Swiss army knife type of player and even though US' squad already has talented scorers and facilitators, there is just something about having Reaves on the floor that has led to success for them1
