Lakers News: Brand-New Kobe Signature Shoe Releasing on Bryant’s Birthday
It's safe to say that the basketball sneaker game is in the middle of a huge transition but still remains in a good place. The younger generation of superstars such as Ja Morant, LaMelo Ball and Jayson Tatum have all received signature lines with their respective brands and continue to dominate the market with sales.
However, it wasn't that long ago when LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Kobe Bryant were the three premier athletes producing sneakers for Nike and their own drops would sell out instantly. Kobe's own signature line has a long history over the years of attempted comebacks following his tragic passing and after some legal battles, Nike and his own camp finally came to an agreement to roll products out once again.
This a huge win for the entire basketball community as Bryant always made sure to put out shoes that not only brought forth a unique look but also always had the proper technology and support to allow players to perform comfortably. A number of his most famous exclusive models will be available once again along with some new releases.
On Bryant's birthday this year, Nike announced that a new color way of the Kobe 8's will be dropping and be coined the 'Halo.'
"The legacy continues. The Kobe Protro 8 ‘Halo’ marks the continuation of a storied legacy, pairing a triple white colorway with the iconic Kobe 8 silhouette, embodying the timelessness of an icon never forgotten. Arriving globally August 23 in SNKRS. Download the App to get notified when it drops."

This is a huge move by Nike and on top of all of the other Kobe releases set for the near future, this one will pay a special tribute to Bryant on his birthday!
