Lakers News: Chauncey Billups Stunned By LeBron James' Season-High Vs Blazers

Once again, LeBron continues to amaze fans and opposing head coaches

At 38 years old and a month away from turning 39, Los Angeles Lakers superstar forward LeBron James isn't supposed to be this great, yet here we are. In year 21, yes, year 21 in the NBA, James is showing no signs of slowing down and is still playing at a high level. 

At this point, we shouldn't be amazed at his prowess, work ethic, and pure basketball ability, but we still cannot help but be shell-shocked. That doesn't just go for fans or pundits but for head coaches in the NBA. 

The Lakers earned their seventh win of the season against the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night thanks to another insane performance by the 19-time All-star. After the game, Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups was stunned by James' performance and how he's still playing at an elite level. 

“To see that and just to see him now, it’s just incredible, man,” Billups said before the game. “What he’s been able to do, what he’s been able to continue to do. We all, one day when we get really old, we’ll be telling our grandkids and stuff that we watched that whole movie. So we’re all pretty lucky to be able to say that.”

James was spectacular once again on Friday, tying a season-high 35 points, nine assists, five rebounds, and two steals on 59% shooting, including 55% from three. 

The 38-year-old is showing no signs of slowing down. Father Time may be undefeated, but James is showing he can defy the test of time, and LA is hoping he can continue to do so.
