Lakers News: Chief Soccer Exec Talks Brand-Expanding Impact Of LeBron James' New Nike Deal
LeBron James has made sure to express his love and support for a number of other sports outside of just basketball over the years and he's popped out to NFL games, soccer matches and baseball events just to name a few. No matter where he goes, he captures the eyes of an enormous fanbase and that only grows whenever he chooses to engage in business deals with the sports franchises.
James was an early investor in Liverpool FC, one of the best football clubs in the world, and he was able to make a huge profit when he exchanged them with a view of holding minority shares of FSG.
However, The King still supports the franchise and used his Nike sponsorship to put together some merchandise that used some of his most famous slogans and logos for Liverpool's team. Liverpool's chief executive Billy Hogan spoke to The Athletic about what it was like to have James in business with them.
"Earlier this year, Liverpool and Nike teamed up with LeBron James to launch a special fashion and footwear range."
“Any time you can bring two iconic sporting names together, Liverpool and LeBron, that’s going to be a winning combination,” Hogan says. “Certainly, we’ve seen that with the interest level in the most recent collaboration. There’s a benefit to both of us – those folks who may not be Liverpool supporters but might be fans of LeBron, and vice versa.”

We hope to see plenty more come out of this partnership.
