Lakers News: Columnist Loves Rob Pelinka’s Summer Transactions For LA
The game of basketball is just half the battle in the NBA, and for Rob Pelinka and the Lakers front office, they've won the offseason and we're not the only ones that think so.
LA Times columnist, Bill Plaschke, loves what the Lakers did in the offseason, and believes that everything panned out very well.
"They did nothing...They did everything...They bricked it...They absolutely nailed it [and] For the first time in recent memory, the NBA free-agent circus missed the Lakers this weekend, yet they were the greatest show on earth."

Picking up Free Agents like Gabe Vincent, Cam Reddish and Taurean Prince were just moves that altered the entire Lakers offseason blueprint for the 2023 season.
And in moments were we're used to seeing the Lakers let players like - Alex Caruso, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Kyle Kuzma - just run off and chase a bag elsewhere, Rob Pelinka held onto DLo, Reaves, and Hachimura, solidifying a strong supporting cast for LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
With general manager Rob Pelinka atoning for past sins, the Lakers displayed something that has not been clearly evident in more than a decade. A plan. They actually
have a plan
! And it could actually work!

This plan curated by Pelinka was a learned lesson from the mistake he made from not allowing his 2020 Lakers take a shot at another healthy Championship run.
Now, we get to continue to see D'Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, and Rui Hachimura shake the seats of Crypto.com Arena with LeBron and AD at a very affordable price.
The plan was executed perfectly and simply - Pelinka did the unexpected and decided to play checkers instead of chess, and it has paid off hugely.
