Lakers guard Austin Reaves seems to be growing in popularity and for good reason. He has taken a massive step in his growth as a player and is now seen as the third-best player for LA.

Being a good player for the Lakers is very different than for any other team, as it comes with more fame than many can understand. The power of the Lakers is worldwide, and Reaves has been living with that this summer.

Everyone in the NBA knows who he is at this point and fans are noticing as well. His jump in the NBA playoffs helped put him on the map and helped him earn a nice contract this summer as well.

However, even last summer before all the Reaves talk has made its way across the league, he was known in LA. He attended a charity event and had one of his favorite actors, Will Farrell, know who he was. Reaves spoke on the situation.

“This might be the only time in my life that I actually ask for a picture,” Reaves remembered. “And he’s walking towards us, just walking and talking to people. And I go to introduce myself, and he was like, ‘“AUSTIN, I’m a huge fan.’ And I didn’t even know what to say. I was just like, ‘Uhhhhh. Me too.’”

Per The LA Times

Farrell is a huge LA sports fan and is consistently attending Laker games. So it is natural that he knows who Reaves is. But this is still cool anyway for Reaves.

Reaves is a humble kid from Arkansas, so the bright lights of LA are all brand new to him. However, he is staying true to himself in the best way.

“People know who I am. And it’s kinda weird,” Reaves said. “But at the same time, in my profession, you’d rather people know who you are than not.”

Per The LA Times

It's important that Reaves remains who he is at heart. Whatever he is doing seems to be working just fine, and it's going to be fun to watch his growth as the season goes on.
