Lakers News: D'Angelo Russell Refuses to Name Any NBA Players That Can Guard Him

Can't give them away!
In this story:

D'Angelo Russell has never lacked confidence ever since he was taking over the college basketball scene during his days at Ohio State. He has always been someone that has bet on himself and has made the best of every situation he's been in. It's clear that at this point in his career, he's still in search of a home in the NBA and he's determined to prove that he can be the starting point guard on a championship team.

The Denver Nuggets were not an ideal matchup for any team last season in the playoffs and there's a reason why they won that title with what seemed like ease. Nikola Jokic finally had a healthy squad around him and all of his teammates stepped up along with him. Russell unfortunately got played out of that Western Conference finals series but we can't just forget all the good he did for LA before that.

He's already made it clear that he believes he isn't given enough credit for his versatility and impact on the floor and when guest-starring on Patrick Beverley's podcast, he was asked if he believes there is any player in the league that can guard him. Russell opted not to choose anybody.

"Man I ain't giving it to nobody," said Russell. "I ain't really giving it to nobody. I can't even say a name, I can't say no name on here."

Like I said, Russell is not short of any confidence and in the NBA, that's how you have to be at times. So many guys are looking to take a starting position and if Dlo gave the nod to anybody, it does show weakness.

We cannot wait to see how he continues to perform for the purple and gold this year!
